You’ve heard it said that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. But sometimes, one man’s trash truly belongs in a garbage can – except all too often, it doesn’t quite make it there.

The sight of litter on our gorgeous coastline was enough to rouse the Motivated Marketing team to action. We added a beach clean-up to the calendar and headed out to Folly Beach on Friday with one thing in mind. Okay, two things: cleaning up the beach, and then enjoying a post-beach beautification drink or two. To rehydrate, of course.

We split into two teams, each heading off in different directions, armed with trash bags and rubber gloves. Aside from the expected cigarette butts and plastic wrappers, we found a few interesting pieces of litter. Suffice it to say that the decapitated Barbie was not the most bizarre.

In all, we rounded up over 200 pieces of trash, weighing around 13 pounds! This may sound like a drop in the proverbial bucket, but just imagine if each beach walker grabbed a few pieces of trash each time they took a stroll. If you’d like to accept our challenge (and preserve our coastline), download the MyCoast app or visit online. The app keeps track of your trash haul and reports the information directly to state and local leaders, like planners, developers and business owners.

Whether we’re volunteering in our community or working on a new ad campaign, our team knows what it takes to stay motivated. Motivated to create, to make an impact, to work harder for our clients than any agency out there. And don’t stick your head in the sand … Every now and then, we play hard, too.

Give us a seemingly impossible deadline. Request change after change after change. We can handle it. With enough caffeine, and an email chain of hilarious memes to keep our spirits up, we can do just about anything.
